Compliments That Men Would Like to Hear More Often
11 Apr, 2022 posted by Daniel
There have been countless articles I’ve written on ways to make women feel more seen, heard, loved, and appreciated. I thought it was about time I provided the male equivalent since many readers have requested it.
Compliments for Men
Praise and appreciation are just as critical to men as to women, which is rarely discussed. Sometimes, it may even be more critical. When it comes to how they look and how they make men feel, women tend to get the majority of verbal praise.
Consider this: I can think of ten songs solely about how beautiful women are (both inside and out)…. and I can’t even think of five that are about men without digging around.
Let’s move on to the six kinds of compliments men would like to hear more often
I heard some of them as requests from the men who asked me to write this article, others I have heard from my male clients who feel insecure about certain aspects of their relationships, and a few have come from my dating history.
Show him that you believe in him with compliments
A man melts when he is supported and believed in. When I asked my male readers about writing this article, this was one of the most consistent responses I got.
A client of mine once said, “Whenever she says any variation of ‘I believe in you, I feel like a superhero who can do anything.” Here are some examples –
You have my belief.
You’re so driven. I love it.
It doesn’t matter what you set your mind to. I know you’ll succeed. That’s who you are.
There is no doubt that people want to work with you/for you… they trust you and your abilities. That is what they should do. And they are right to do so.
Your new job/raise is excellent, of course. We all know you’re talented and hardworking. You deserve so much success.
Your life has already been filled with so much accomplishment. I’m sure your future will be filled with many more great achievements. Whatever comes your way, you’ll make the most of it.
Compliments about appearance and body
In western society, men might not experience as much body shaming marketing as women do, but they are still insecure about certain aspects of their physical appearance. Furthermore, everyone (regardless of gender) appreciates knowing that their partner finds them attractive. No matter whether it’s his arms, hands, eyes, thighs, or private parts that receive the compliment, guys don’t mind too much.
My male readers shared some heartfelt comments with me that they like the most:
The way you look is so handsome.
The workout you mentioned wasn’t a joke. I’m impressed!
You look incredibly manly today. It’s nice.
That suit/tie/outfit looks great on you!
I enjoy feeling your sexy arms around me.
Laughing makes you look beautiful.
When you cry, you look beautiful.
Even when your hair is messed up after waking up, you always look handsome.
Acknowledgements of his efforts
Each of us likes to be recognized for our effort in our relationships. Your appreciation for the work he does will make him feel appreciated. No matter how small. Make sure to acknowledge everything he does. You tend to get more of something when you praise it publicly. But even if you don’t, you still get to show him how much you care. It doesn’t matter if he emptied the trash, switched out a light bulb, or did the dishes… you must recognize his acts of service from time to time.
Some examples…
You’re so kind to me.
I appreciate you cooking for me so much, love. It means a lot to me. I also really enjoyed this!
You are apparently prepared to fix anything, don’t you?
I appreciate your gentleness with me.
I appreciate you listening to me. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to vent
It was nice of you to do (this) for me. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. It is greatly appreciated. I love how sweet you are toward me.
Your playing with the kids of (a mutual friend) earlier today was so cute. You have such a playful side. It’s great when you can let loose and play.
Showing respect by giving him compliments
According to several studies, men feel respect as love, and they place a higher emotional value on feeling respected than necessarily feeling loved. It’s important to note that your man probably wants to feel respected within your relationship, even though these studies don’t necessarily mean much on an individual level.
You can say it to him in the following ways:
You’re a decent man.
You are an inspiration to me.
I respect you so much.
Every time I see you, you become a better version of yourself.
Admitting your mistake/apologizing/having that problematic conversation back there took courage. I admire your courage. It was impressive.
My favourite thing about you is how forgiving you are with those closest to you. Being the bigger man back there took a lot of strength, and you did an outstanding job.
Your thoughtfulness and care for my friends/ parents/ co-workers are greatly appreciated. Your concern for other people is much appreciated.
Compliments that show trust in his leadership abilities
Whether you want to blame social conditioning, biology, or whatever else you want, most men like to be seen as the leaders of their relationships and lives. If you want to let him know you see him and you trust his way of being in the world, say a few of the following things:
I believe in you.
I stand by you.
You have never driven us off track in past.
I will follow you wherever you go.
No one gives better advice than you. It’s obvious how smart you are.
Compliments for men that demonstrate your regard for him
Every man has experienced the sensation of walking past someone so beautiful that they go weak at the knees. We share a powerful rush of attraction when we are attracted. Whenever you are around him, let him know you feel something similar.
You make me blush.
It is always a pleasure to see you smile.
Your words deeply touch me.
Because of having you as a prosperity net, I can accomplish so much more in my life. Thanks to you, I always feel supported.
You have such captivating eyes. It’s impossible not to get lost in them.
No one has ever made me feel more comfortable and safe than you. Your presence makes me feel at ease.
You’ve never turned me on more than you have. My knees are always weak when you are around.
There is no one I know who is funnier than you.

Compliments don’t just serve as ego-stroking. They come from a place of genuine affection for your partner. Do not exaggerate when giving compliments. Choose a compliment that makes sense and feels natural, not exaggerated. Many men do a great job but don’t even realize it, so these compliments are more valuable than you realize when it comes to making your partner feel safe in your relationship.
