WHY ORGANIC SKINCARE?

Our skin is our largest organ, absorbing almost everything that it comes in contact with. Every day, we unknowingly expose our skin to a variety of unnecessary chemicals or unhealthy substances that eventually make their way into the bloodstream and cause damage in the long run.

This is why you must be aware and deliberate about what comes in contact with your skin. You should check daily to ensure that your skin is in good health and do your best to avoid skin products that will have detrimental effects.

Organic is a synonym for natural. Organic products are those made from substances that occur in nature, which are predominantly not harmful to the vast majority of the world. The world is following through with organic products rather than synthetic cosmetics because of their ability to clean, clear, heal, and beautify without causing any harm. Organic products include products like chemical-free body washes, chemical-free acne removers, and chemical-free body lotions.

Below are some of the chief reasons why organic skincare products are placed over traditional ones.

Better for the skin:

Synthetic or traditional skincare products are widely known for their adverse effects. They usually clear the skin for the first couple of weeks but, in the long run, cause a variety of negative impacts ranging from irritation and increased sensitivity to clogged pores and wrinkles.

Organic products, on the other hand, are made from natural substances. These are usually made from the same components present in food and, as such, harmless. Therefore, choosing organic skincare products is selecting ingredients that are in sync with your body’s functioning. This will allow your skin to function as correctly as it should, in a state of balance and good health.

Better for health:

Many synthetic and traditional skincare products contain artificial and harmful chemicals such as phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, and parabens. These chemicals are absent in chemical-free body washes, chemical-free body lotions and creams, and other chemical-free products. These chemicals are almost always endocrine-damaging, with an added negative bonus of being carcinogens (potential cancer precursors).

The more these synthetic products are used, the more they penetrate the skin into the bloodstream, wreaking havoc in varying degrees. However, using all-natural skincare products nourishes the skin. It allows it to operate in healthy and necessary ways for its long life.

Better for the Environment:

Organic products are derived from natural extracts. These extracts are obtained from plants that are consistently grown using sustainable practices. On the other hand, synthetic and conventional skincare products contain chemicals resulting from several tests carried out in the lab. This generates a significant amount of waste.

Organic products do not have these harsh chemicals and, as such, do not pollute the environment as these conventional ones do. Therefore, choosing organic skin care products over conventional ones is also choosing to save the environment from pollution and its detrimental effects.

You don’t need to worry about your health:

Presently, there’s a lot of controversy surrounding the ingredients present in synthetic skin care products. Some people believe these products to be safe. In contrast, others are skeptical and doubtful about them, based on the fact that they’re products of little scientific research.

Therefore, using these synthetic products is throwing caution to the wind, taking on risks that will perhaps lead to serious negative consequences in the end. Such a gamble on your health isn’t necessary. You don’t want to be counted amongst the unfortunate cases that have suffered these consequences.

 Reduced chance of allergic reactions:

There is a much higher chance of getting an allergic reaction from using synthetic skin care products over organic or natural ones. Skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne can worsen when using harmful, manufactured products.

On the other hand, organic products are nutritious to the skin as they contain essential natural components that are known to be beneficial to our health. In case of allergic reactions, it is necessary to visit a dermatologist to know which products to use and avoid.

We all care about ourselves, especially our skins, as they are the most immediate representation of us. Therefore, let us normalize the use of chemical-free skincare products like gels, body washes, lotions, creams, and others. These are sure to give us a better and healthier output than our synthetic counterparts.
